Pacific East Coast began flying on June 1, 1982 offering $99 flight between Los Angeles and Honolulu. Other low cost service was later added to different destination. In 1984 he company was sued by the state of California for overbookng and failure to make refunds in a timely manner. It filed for bankruptcy on May 9, 1984 and ceased operations.
